Hello again everyone, this is my third post in my blog. In
this post, I am going to share with you on what I had learned in science
computer about network. Actually, this is the first topic for my science
computer subject in semester two. So, what is network??
Network is a collection of computers and devices that are
connected together via communications devices and transmission media. There are
three applications of network which are resource sharing, information sharing
and communications.
In network, there are communications devices. Communications
devices are any type of hardware capable of transmitting data, instructions and
information between a sending and receiving devices. Here are examples of
communication devices, Dial up modem, Digital modem, Wireless modem, Wireless
access point, Network card, Router, Hub and Switch.
In network, there is also transmission media, which is the
material capable of carrying one or more signals in a communications device.
There are two types of transmission media firstly physical transmission which
are twisted pair cable, Coaxial cable and Fibre optic cable. Secondly, wireless
transmission media which are Infrared, Broadcast radio, Cellular radio, Microwave,
Communication satellites

In learning network, we also should know the network
architecture. Definition of network architecture is the design of computers
device and media in network. There are two types of network architecture which
are client server and peer to peer.

Network topology. Definition of network topology is refers
to the layout of the computers and devices in a communication network. There
are physical topology and logical topology. Also there are types of network
topology which are Bus topology, Ring topology and Star topology.
Network can also be classified into three which are Local
Area Network (LAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN).
LAN provide the fastest internet connection, WAN is slower than LAN but faster
than WAN. WAN provide the slowest internet connection but it covers the largest
geographical area. LAN covers the smallest and WAN covers larger than LAN but
smaller than WAN.

As a conclusion, I can say that there is a lot to learn about networks. If you are interested, you can search and read about networks. If you would prefer books, then I want to recommend you to read the Shelly Cashman books. Pretty simple to understand, also there are a lot of illustrations and pictures in that book. Thank you for reading my post.

In most corporate companies, LAN is the main internet connection used as it provided stable connectivity for the users. This is a very good article on network :) keep up the good work :)
ReplyDeleteWow. The topology things are new to me. And they are amazing.
ReplyDeleteAmazing article
ReplyDeleteGreat application for what you've learned in class. Sharing is caring.
ReplyDeleteyess...well done...and thank you for the information
